*still here*

Tue Jan 9, 2007, 5:28 AM
Yes, I am still alive, and yes, I do still know about DA. And yes, I am still drawing and painting and sculpting and a few other things. But no, sadly, I haven't had time to scan anything in. It may be a little while before I can post anything, but hopefully not too long.
On the bright side, I have a few sketches I really like, so as soon as I can, I'll post those, along with some pictures of the stuff I've been sculpting.
On the non-art side of things, everything is going well, and the cat even feels that she should be typing something, as she has taken up walking on the keyboard and and pawing at my arm when I'm typing. Thus, mew from the cat. And mao, and meow.

... *looks around*

Guess I've been a bit quiet lately, eh? Things have been busy, but it's best that way. Finally getting around to working on some sculpture, a baby dragon, so if it works out, I'll post some pictures of it. I wouldn't hold your breath for that one, though. It may be some time in coming, but if it does, it should be worth it. Might give it to someone who might like it, don't know yet.
My sister is recovering from her surgery, so I'll post the picture I played with for her. She liked the doodle for it, so I made it large enough that she could make it her wallpaper on either of her computers. Don't know if I got the ratio right, but I think it's large enough it doesn't matter. Brute force, so not exactly an elegant solution, but I guess it works.
Things are calm, though, so I guess that's about it.

Peace.

Stuff!!!

Fri Apr 8, 2005, 8:49 PM
Yes, indeed, random stuff it is. Hm... let's see now... ahha! I found it! A friend sent this to me, and as I don't do chain mail, but kinda liked it, figured I'd put it here, yes? Alright, here it is:

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog.

There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."
"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel.

"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked.
"Yes," the farmer replied proudly.
"I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of." And that he did.

Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time,graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia.
What saved his life this time? Penicillin.
The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name?
Sir Winston Churchill.

Someone once said: What goes around comes around.

Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.

It's National Friendship Week. Send this to everyone you consider a friend.
Pass this on, and brighten some one's day.

May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

And that's about it for the randomness of the day. Long post, but whatever, maybe it'll make someone happy or something. Mrr! Before I forget... *hands whoever's reading this a rather large cup of joy* Enjoy! ^^
